Rice Automation, 166 Hwy V, Harviell, MO 63945, sells and services welding robots and welding cells. This page explains what information we collect, what we do with it, and who else sees it. It covers riceautomation.com, our quote and customer portal, and the Rice Automation Sales App we use internally, including its connection to QuickBooks Online.
What we collect
- Contact details you give us. Name, company, email, phone, and address when you fill out a form, ask for a quote, call us, or buy from us.
- Quote and order records. What we quoted you, what you accepted, purchase order numbers, and the name and time of anyone who accepts a quote through our customer portal.
- Usage of our quote links. When a quote link is opened we record the time and the IP address so we know the quote was seen.
- Website analytics. riceautomation.com uses Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages people read. See Google's privacy policy for how they handle that data.
How we use it
- To answer your questions, prepare quotes, and complete sales.
- To send invoices and keep our books. Accepted quotes are entered into our accounting system, QuickBooks Online, which stores your company name, billing address, contact email, and the amounts and items on the sale.
- To send you news about robots and cells we have for sale, if you asked for it. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link and we stop when you use it.
- To run and secure our website and tools.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your information. We share it only with the services we use to run the business, and only what each one needs:
- Intuit QuickBooks Online for invoicing and accounting.
- Supabase and Netlify, which host our database, website, and app.
- Resend and Microsoft 365, which deliver our email.
- Google Analytics for website traffic counts.
- Freight carriers and payment providers when they need your details to deliver or bill an order.
We may also share information when the law requires it.
QuickBooks connection
Our sales app connects to our own QuickBooks Online company through Intuit's authorized API. The connection is used only to create customers, estimates, and invoices for accepted quotes, and to read back the documents it created. It does not read your QuickBooks account; it only touches ours. Rice Automation staff can disconnect it at any time.
How long we keep it
Quote, order, and accounting records are kept as long as we need them for tax and warranty purposes. Contact details stay in our customer list until you ask us to remove them.
Your choices
You can ask us what we have about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. You can unsubscribe from marketing email with the link in any message or by emailing us. Contact sales@riceautomation.com or call (877) 855-7020.
Security
Our systems use encrypted connections, and access to customer records is limited to Rice Automation staff with a login. API keys and tokens for connected services are stored server side and never sent to a browser.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page.
